Making Each Day Count…..

If ever there was a time to make each day count, it’s now!
Welcome to the very first St Andrew’s Hospice ‘Making Each Day Count Charity Auction’ where your bid will help us to raise vital funds for our charity so that we can continue to offer care, comfort and support, helping to ‘make each day count’ for our patients and their families at a time when they are most in need.

About us
We are a home from home where our patients and families can come and go as they please. They can bring their pets, order a takeaway, and do whatever they feel will bring them the most comfort.

St Andrew’s Hospice provides free care for people of all ages living with progressive life-limiting conditions, including cancer, Motor Neurone disease, cardio-vascular diseases, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease. This care is available in a range of settings, from overnight stays and respite, to out-patient visits and home care.
Why we need your support
St Andrew’s Hospice is a registered charity (No 1011117 England), employing about 140 staff and supported by more than 500 volunteers. It means we can provide 24-hour care, seven days a week. It currently costs £5.5-million a year to run the hospice, and only 18% is funded by the Government; we rely on the generosity of our community to fund the rest. This past year has been extremely difficult in fundraising without our usual events, raffles, auctions and activities which is why we have launched a safe alternative to help us raise much needed funds.
Whether its Ed Sheeran’s signed guitar or a trip to the races, each and every winning bid will help us to help families like Hektors…..

Hektor’s case study
Hektor is a gorgeous little boy who attends our children’s unit with his family. He is full of smiles ans giggles, but it has not always been easy, after suffering a bleed to the brain at just 7 weeks old.

“He is an absolute sweetie, who works hard to push himself more and more” – Christine, Physiotherapist

Little Hektor defied expectations; facing and winning the battle for his life and learning to live with cerebral palsy, quadriplegia and development complications.

“His best and most beautiful smiles are when he is bouncing” – Hektor’s Mum, Amy
